The Why Files: Message to Dreamers
He knocked this one out of the park.
I am preparing to remake the rules of acquisition for the Ethereal mechanics release. One of the topics ( not necessarily a rule) is that most of the major break troughs in technology were from someone outside the field. In many cases people who did not even go to college (Wright Brothers for example).
The updated 2nd Rule: Failure is the way forward. Many scientific break-throughs were the results of accidents or failures (penicillin for example).
Another example is a child learning to walk. They fall on their butt many times in order to learn what not to do.
If we are not experiencing failures, then we are not making progress. (maybee that should be the updated second rule)
Failure is the only option
If we are not failing, we are not trying
Success is not success without failure
based on what Niels Bohr said Thankfully we have met with a paradox. Now we have some hope of making progress.
